richard-priestThe awards ceremony of the ninth edition of the Médaillés de la relève 2015 competition took place on June 9th. Richard Priest, a 2014 EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal alumnus, and JL Priest, the family business founded by his father, Leonard Priest, were awarded the silver medal in the Family succession category.

JL Priest is a dynamic family company, founded in 1964, which offers personalized services in electricity, and general construction. The success of the company reflects the perseverance and determination of a father, Leonard Priest, and his son, Richard, who share the same vision of professionalism and maintaining quality relationships at all levels: company, customers, suppliers and employees.

Mr. Louis Vachon, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Bank, presided over the evening and Mr. René Vézina, economist, columnist and journalist for Les Affaires, hosted the awards ceremony. The competition, which is organized by PwC in collaboration with the National Bank / HEC Montréal Entrepreneurship Institute and partners, celebrates the success of Quebec businesses that have successfully managed their succession, while maintaining the sustainability of their business. This year, six companies were rewarded by the judges in two separate categories. Beaudoin Group Inc., JL Priest and Les Pavages Chenail Inc. were honored for family succession, and CT Copieur, CVTech Inc. and Cofomo for entrepreneurial succession.
