Claire Hayek, a 2015 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA graduate, has recently been elected as a director on the board of Re:Sound.

Artisti’s board

[on which Claire already sits] nominated me to join Re:Sound. They thought I would be a good fit due to my business and music background as well as my EMBA. They also thought it would be great to have an artist on the Re:Sound board as the latter is composed of music business leaders from collection rights societies, major labels and independent labels such as MROC, SOPROC, ACTRA RACS, CIMA (more details here). I will bring the artist’s input to big decisions made in music licensing in Canada,” says Claire.

Re:Sound is the Canadian not-for-profit music licensing company dedicated to obtaining fair compensation for artists and record companies for their performance rights. They advocate for music creators, educate music users, license businesses and distribute royalties to creators — all to help build a thriving and sustainable music industry in Canada.
