Stéphane Fortin, a 2018 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA graduate, had a new company project in mind well before his admission to the McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA: Divicor Inc. The firm’s unique approach is in providing foreign companies in a highly technical field – graphic communications and printability – representation in Canada by qualified representatives.  Having graduated in May, Stéphane finally launched Divicor this month.

“I had been working on this project for over 8 years. I was supposed to launch it in January 2017, but following my acceptance to the EMBA program, I decided to delay the launch. I thought that I would benefit from the tools I would learn about at McGill and HEC Montreal.  I wanted to start my next business with new ways of doing things, with an MBA mindset. “

Divicor is Stéphane’s sixth enterprise and the fourth he started from scratch.  Stéphane will be the President of Divicor and will lead all operations and sales, and ensure that manufacturers and manufacturers’ customers’ needs are well served.

“My EMBA final paper, entitled « Best practices and strategies in sales as adopted by successful companies in the declining field of printing.» has helped me a lot in the final stages of pre-startup. I gained a better understanding of the real needs of successful printers. Moreover, I’ve improved my business model, mission, vision, and strategy, as a direct result of the new skills and knowledge developed at the EMBA and thanks to my classmates’ input. “

Divicor inc. is a firm that offers a sales force at the service of manufacturers, the opportunity to be part of an independent manufacturing group, a single contact link in Canada and much more. Stéphane’s team will be complete by early September and ready to operate across Canada.
