Bruno Meunier, a 2018 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA graduate, was recently promoted to Vice President of Operations, Greater Montreal at Kevric Real Estate Corp. He has been with Kevric nearly 6 years and this is his second promotion since joining the company and his second since finishing the EMBA program.

Bruno shares that for his new role, one of his main challenges, will be to turn the operations and maintenance department into a profit centre and that to do so, the company will have to expand its services offered to tenants. In addition, to remain competitive in today’s real estate market, he says the company will need to diligently improve their processes and find ways to integrate artificial intelligence into the management and control of their properties. However, an important issue that his company is facing, is the scarcity of skilled labour. For this, he will have to quickly implement a succession plan for the key positions in the Operations Department.

Bruno is looking forward to tackling these challenges and shares with us: “The EMBA has developed my entrepreneurial way of thinking. Before taking any actions for each of the tasks that my team or myself have to perform, I ask myself whether it will add value, and above all, if it is in line with the objectives and strategies of the company.” He adds: ”I am also currently establishing the operations department’s strategies for 2019 and since having done the program, I feel more equipped in initiating strategies which take into account key factors that can influence our overall operations, by using the knowledge acquired in the Analytic Mindset Module’’.
