Émilie Rondeau, a McGill-HEC Montreal 2013 EMBA alumna has recently been appointed to Talisman Theatre’s Board of Directors.

Talisman Theatre is an award-winning, Montreal-based production company. Since its founding in 2005, Talisman Theatre has championed the same artistic mission: “To produce professional English-language premieres of contemporary Quebecois plays” in translation for the English stage. Talisman’s mission is one of interculturalism: working with contemporary issues, they strive to build bridges between Montreal’s two solitudes by making the Quebecois perspective accessible to non-francophones.

Émilie has evolved in various industries over the past 20+ years, such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and telecommunication and she has succeeded in managing different functions including business development, project management, marketing and fundraising. In the higher education field since 2016, she now acts as Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving at HEC Montréal Foundation.

Émilie believes that what she has learned at the Executive MBA program will be helpful in her new role on Talisman Theatre’s Board of Directors:

” The EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal makes us better managers, and thanks to the diversity of our classmates, it increases our curiosity and interest in sectors other than our own. We quickly realize that what we learn at the EMBA can be applied to all organizations, because what we develop is a different way of thinking and a way to provide solutions to issues that we could not anticipate.

In class, we often talked about the concept of «Connecting the dots» and that’s a perfect description of how, in hindsight, I see the stages of my professional career and how they led me to where I am today. “

The mission of Talisman is a definitely good fit for an EMBA alumna: as a bilingual program, it also ensures a greater understanding across cultures.
