Victor Duro joins Alice & Smith as investor and Vice President of Business Development Victor Duro, a McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA graduate, recently joined Alice & Smith Studio as an investor and as Vice President of Business Development. Located in Montreal, the Alice & Smith studio specializes in alternate reality games. In addition to managing the launch of many video games, it has conducted global campaigns in more than 80 countries. Recognized for its expertise in investigative games and alternate reality games, the Alice & Smith studio has, for example, attracted more than 350,000 players with its latest creation, Walking Titan. The studio has also been commissioned by NBC Universal to act as a consultant on the Mr. Robot TV series. With this background, Alice & Smith decided a year ago to launch an ambitious project NITE Team 4. NT4 is inspired by the latest military and civilian hacking platforms, it is a simulation that offers to relive the most famous cyber-attacks of the last decade. "As Vice President Business Development, my main duties are to work on the outreach of the studio as well as our games and in particular our latest title "NITE TEAM 4". I have wanted to create or invest in a company for a long time, but I felt that I did not have the tools to make the move. Catherine Dagenais, current EMBA participant, is promoted Vice-President and COO of SAQ The Société des Alcools du Québec (SAQ) is like a second home to Catherine Dagenais. She’s worked there in various capacities for the last fifteen years, and her experience will be put to very good use going forward. The Board of Directors of the SAQ recently confirmed Catherine’s appointment to Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. In this new role, she will provide leadership and direction for all of the organization’s operations related to marketing, sales channels, and supply chain, including the important evolution to omni-channel operations. At the same time, since last September, Catherine has been a member of the McGill-HEC Executive MBA Program, which has been a good fit for her evolution: "Throughout the year, the McGill - HEC Montreal EMBA has prepared me to take on this new role. My final paper will allow me to help our supply chain evolve,"says Catherine.
New Community Manager for Outaouais, at RBC: Nadim Ladha (EMBA 2017) With barely enough time to catch his breath after graduating from EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal, and only 10 months after his last promotion, Nadim Ladha has been promoted to Community Manager for the Outaouais Region at RBC Royal Bank. The official announcement of his appointment described Nadim as "an outstanding leader," a person who "stands out at all levels, from employee surveys to his team’s financial results and client surveys" and whose motto is "Be the customers’ first choice". Nadim believes that he is a better manager today, thanks to all he learned from his Executive MBA classmates. Many of them had more experience than Nadim, and were very open about sharing their insights and experiences.
Danièle Bergeron (EMBA 2011) named President and CEO of Mayrand Ltd Danièle Bergeron, a 2011 McGill–HEC Montreal EMBA graduate and a certified corporate director (ASC), was recently named President and CEO of Mayrand Ltd. Her duties will include integrating a digital strategy, developing new markets and innovating in brand positioning. Mayrand has been a Montréal fixture since 1914. The food wholesaler now has a new 80,000 ft2 warehouse-store dedicated entirely to food. Developed for retailers, but also serving the general public, Mayrand has over 15,000 food products and supplies to meet its customers’ expectations. Danièle is a seasoned manager with extensive retail experience and is recognized for her ability to conceptualize, orchestrate and implement effective and innovative business strategies. Over the course of her career she has held high-level positions such as Executive Vice-President of Commercial Operations at Maison Ogilvy, Vice-President, Products at Jacob, President of Mobilia, a furniture company and, until recently, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at SAIL. She sat on the SAQ, CAA Quebec and IRCM boards. “What I learned during my EMBA has served me more than once in recent years. It let me make a smooth transition in the presidential succession at Mobilia. The Analytic Mindset Module still helps me today in strategic planning. Pierre Rajotte (EMBA 2016) appointed Senior Manager, Strategy and Projects for National Bank Direct Brokerage Pierre Rajotte, a 2016 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA graduate, has recently been appointed to the role of Senior Manager, Strategy and Projects for National Bank Direct Brokerage (NBDB). Pierre, who has extensive experience in financial services, was already working within National Bank's Marketing department as a project management consultant. Pierre will be a member of the management committee of NBDB and will report directly to its president, Laurent Blanchard (EMBA 2016). After having spent fifteen months in the EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal program together, Pierre and Laurent already share a great deal of complicity which is certainly a valuable advantage. "Together, we will do great things!" said Pierre with confidence. As part of his new role, Pierre will focus on the challenges of transforming the financial community, as he will be in charge of projects belonging to NBDB and cross-section initiatives within the Wealth Management Group and at National Bank of Canada. "I bring a fresh look and a varied experience to the excellent team already in place," says Pierre.
Isabelle Valois has recently been promoted to Director of Market Intelligence for North America at Henkel Isabelle Valois started the EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal in September 2016 and has recently been promoted to Director of Market Intelligence for North America at Henkel. These new responsibilities will be added to her current role as Head of Canada Marketing for Henkel Corporation, Loctite Adhesive Technologies. She will continue to be part of the General Industry North American Marketing Organization at Henkel. Henkel is a German multinational company active both in the consumer and industrial sector with leading brands & technologies in three business areas: Laundry & Home Care, Beauty Care and Adhesive Technologies. “I strongly believe that this promotion is directly linked to my participation in the great EMBA program offered by McGill and HEC Montréal,” said Isabelle.
