Roger-Ketcha Ngassam (EMBA 2016) has been appointed Global Head Strategic Operations, Group & NTO Quality at Novartis

Roger-Ketcha Ngassam, a 2016 McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA graduate, joined Novartis in 2013 and has recently been appointed Global Head Strategic Operations, Group & Novartis Technical Operations Quality at its headquarters in Basel, Switzerland. The purpose of Roger’s role will be to integrate all strategic initiatives related to the management and long-term direction of the global Quality organization, providing high-level oversight and ensuring consistency in approach and standards. As well as planning, coordinating and executing strategic initiatives and programs within the framework of the Quality strategy, he will also oversee the running of the governance system and identify and share best practices, with the aim of building a high performing organization with world-class, efficient processes that will sustain competitiveness in an increasingly challenging environment. Roger holds a bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from Polytechnique Montreal and has previously worked with Abbott Laboratories, Wyeth and Pfizer. At the end of his EMBA program, in 2015, he had been appointed as Vice President, Technical Operations at Boucherville. This recent promotion in Switzerland is therefore his second since joining the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA family.

Catherine Dagenais (EMBA 2018) will be the SAQ’s new President and COO

Catherine Dagenais (EMBA 2018) will be the SAQ’s new president and chief operating officer Catherine Dagenais, a 2018 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA alumna, has been appointed as the next president and chief executive officer of The Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ). She will succeed Alain Brunet, who was also a program alumnus. Under the Act Respecting the Société des alcools du Québec, the Quebec government appointed Catherine on the recommendation of the Board of Directors. Holding an executive MBA (McGill-HEC Montréal) and a bachelor’s in business administration, Catherine has solid experience in retailing and sales network management. A member of the SAQ team since 2000, she has acquired a 360° knowledge of the company, rising through the ranks and holding the positions of Vice-President, Sales Network, then Vice-President, Retail Strategy and Customer Experience, and, in 2017, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer. In the last, she led more than 6,000 persons, namely all the employees dedicated to sales, merchandising, the supply chain, real estate development and sustainable development. In recent years, Catherine oversaw a major organizational transformation that resulted in the introduction of an omni-channel customer experience, including the Click, Purchase, Pick Up service and SAQ Inspire experience. The appointment is all the more gratifying for the SAQ in that Catherine will be the first woman to occupy the top position of the government corporation. Alexandre Jeong (EMBA 2016) becomes Senior Lead, Technology Strategy & Architecture at Deloitte

Alexandre Jeong, a 2016 McGill-HEC Montreal Executive MBA program graduate, is an enthusiastic leader with the vision to align business and IT by determining and delivering key strategic solutions, developing new business and establishing trusted relationships with clients and peers. With his vast experience within different large organizations, he was the ideal candidate for his new role as Senior Lead, Technology Strategy & Architecture at Deloitte. Alexandre’s personal mission at the consulting firm is to “help leading companies defining their technology strategy to create business value”.

Alain Dadoun (EMBA 2013) is appointed Vice President, Small Business Care and Sales at Bell

Alain Dadoun, a 2013 graduate of the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA program, has recently been appointed Vice President, Small Business Care and Sales at Bell. Alain is an electrical engineer, a Polytechnique Montréal graduate, and has been working for over 14 years. He has held several management positions at Bell over the last several years and has been involved in, among other things, transformation projects, multichannel programs, strategy and digital experience. He has a broad perspective of Bell's operations, which will certainly prove to be useful in his new role as Vice President.

A promotion for Marco De Tavira Ayala, a current EMBA participant, at Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services

Marco De Tavira Ayala, a current McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA participant, has recently been appointed as Section Chief Project Engineering Global 7000 Green A/C at Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services. Marco will now coordinate the EWIS Green A/C engineering activities across all business sites, being; Montreal, Toronto, and Global Completions Center. “This new role is an opportunity I created for myself by applying my learnings from the program in my role. I am already taking advantage of the Collaborative IP to establish the strategy to take on my new responsibilities and to empower my team” explained Marco to the EMBA team.

New role for Eric Boucher (EMBA 2018) at LafargeHolcim

Eric Boucher (EMBA 2018) is now Vice President & General Manager, Greater Edmonton Market & Western Canada Ready Mix for LafargeHolcim Eric Boucher, a recent graduate of the McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA program,  accepted the position of  Vice President & General Manager, Greater Edmonton Market & Western Canada Ready Mix for LafargeHolcim. This is Eric’s second promotion at LafargeHolcim since he completed his EMBA classes last fall. LafargeHolcim is a leading global building materials and solutions company serving masons, builders, architects and engineers all over the world. Eric will now be based out of Edmonton and will be responsible for the Concrete Ready Mix product line for all of Western Canada (Manitoba to BC).

France St-Louis (EMBA 2018) is now Chief Claims Officer for OneBeacon Insurance Group

France St-Louis (EMBA 2018) is now Chief Claims Officer for OneBeacon Insurance Group France St-Louis, a 2018 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA alumna, recently accepted the position of Chief Claims Officer for OneBeacon Insurance Group and is now based in Minneapolis, United States. France has been working in the insurance industry for over 20 years. Until recently, she was Deputy Senior Vice-President, Claims at Intact Insurance, the largest provider of property and casualty (P&C) insurance in Canada and a leading provider of specialty insurance in North America. Intact recently bought OneBeacon,  now a wholly-owned subsidiary, which provides specialty insurance products in the United States through independent agencies, brokers, wholesalers and managing general agencies. One of France’s roles will be to act as the bridge between OneBeacon and Intact. “I am very excited by this new challenge. I know that the EMBA has definitely helped me reach this new stage in my career.” shared France.

Richad Jiva Lila (EMBA 2018) and his success story at National Bank

A renewed global perspective, a change project with impact and a promotion to deputy Vice-President Richad Jiva Lila is confident that "the financial services of tomorrow will be a mix of technology and talent" and that the key to succeed in this environment is "to go faster through digital and to differentiate through the relationships we build". Richad Jiva Lila has worked at National Bank for over twenty years, yet he feels that the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA program has led him to see some aspects of the organization differently: "The EMBA has really been a source of value creation for me and for my organization. The program allowed me to have an overall organizational perspective, to pivot our business model by analyzing our blind spots in order to create a unique value proposition for our customers. " During the EMBA, participants are asked to implement a change project in their organization. In his own change project, Richad developed "The Institutional Boutique", an element which is today at the heart of the change in strategy at the Bank. "It's very interesting at this point to see how the theory conveyed in the EMBA actually has an impact on the corporate strategy, but above all, creates value for the customer," Richad explains. Jean-Claude Tshipama appointed CEO Broadband for Eutelsat SA

Jean-Claude Tshipama (EMBA 2016) has recently been named CEO Broadband within Eutelsat SA in charge of Africa. Eutelsat S.A. provides satellite-based video, business, broadband networks, and mobile services to telecommunication operators and broadcasters, corporate network integrators, and companies primarily in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. The company owns and operates satellites that provide capacity to international telecommunications operators and broadcasting companies. Jean-Claude Tshipama is a McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA alumnus. He started his career in Democratic Republic of Congo in the telecommunications, computer and Pay TV industries’.He successively worked as Commercial Manager at Celtel in Africa, Head of Sales and Distribution for nineteen countries in Africa at Microsoft Corporation and Head of Sales and Distribution at Digicel in the Caribbean and Pacifica regions, before taking the general direction of Canal + RDC. More recently, he had embarked on an entrepreneurial project in Quebec, with his wife: Zympala, a high-end, African-inspired clothing line for which he held the position of President and CEO. He had developed the plan for this company during the EMBA. Today, with Zympala in the capable hands of his wife, Jean-Claude returns to work in an environment he knows well. The learning and tools developed at the EMBA and his entrepreneurial experience will certainly give him a different perspective on the industry and its challenges.

Josée Duplessis (EMBA 2016), CN’s new Senior Director, Public Affairs – Canada

Josée Duplessis, a 2016 graduate of the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA, has been appointed to the position of Senior Director, Public Affairs - Canada, CN - the Canadian National Railway Company and its rail subsidiaries.  Just 18 months after graduating, she has been able to achieve her objective: "I was drawn to the Executive MBA because I wanted to make a shift in my career; from politics to the business world. The program allowed me to recognize the skills learned in public administration, to transfer them and to land a great job and challenge within CN, a significant industry player," Josée told the EMBA team. With a background in sociology, Josée has also distinguished herself by her involvement in federal and municipal politics. Since her EMBA graduation, she had held the position of Chief of Staff for the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Canada and Minister Responsible for the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Josée had previously been at the head of Recyc-Québec's Board of Directors and worked on restructuring the governance of Aboriginal communities. On the municipal scene, she held various positions, including chair of the executive committee of the City of Montreal and responsible for urbanisms and natural areas files for the island of Montreal and a member of the commission of economic development and councilor of the Plateau Mont-Royal borough.[/fusion_text]
