HLCol Auclair is a very active physician and involved in Quebec\u2019s Northern communities. Practicing medicine in Quebec\u2019s remote regions for more than fourteen years, she knows the issues specific to 2 CRPG\u2019S area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
Her attraction to travelling and to discovering new cultures, makes her a leading ambassador for the cultural diversity present within 2 CRPG. In addition, her presence is undoubtedly an added value in the many efforts to promote healthy lifestyles with the Canadian Rangers (CR) and the Junior Canadian Rangers (JCR).<\/p>\n
Quick Facts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n- An Honorary rank does not confer authority or command function; rather, it promotes the unit identity and ethos. Honoraries serve as an advisor to the Commanding Officer on virtually all issues excluding operations. The tenure of appointment of an Honorary member will normally be for a period of three years.<\/li>\n
- Auclair has been a family physician at the Inuulitsivik Health Center (CHS) since 2007, mainly in Puvirnituq, Ivujivik and Inukjuak, and head of the Regional Department of General Medicine (RDGM) of the Nunavik Regional Health and Social Services Board since 2015.<\/li>\n
- Auclair completed her doctorate in medicine (MD) at Laval University in Quebec City in 2005, followed by a 2-year residency in family medicine at the same university until 2007. She has completed various medical internships in the regions of Quebec (Chibougamau, Blanc-Sablon, La Tabati\u00e8re, Gasp\u00e9, Inukjuak, \u00celes-de-la-Madeleine, Sept-\u00celes) as well as in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 2003 and in Honduras in 2002. Dr. Auclair obtained a Diploma in Language and Civilization 1 – Inuktitut from INALCO in France in 2015 and her EMBA from McGill-HEC Montreal in 2017.<\/li>\n
- Auclair has received various awards for her work, including the “Resident Leadership Award” from Laval University, CMFC in 2007 and the “Meritorious Service Medal (M.S.M.), Civil Division” in 2017.<\/li>\n
- The first 2 CRPG Honorary Lieutenant Colonel was Mr. Bernard Voyer from 2008 to 2012 followed by a second term from 2013 to 2018.<\/li>\n
- The Canadian Rangers are members of the Canadian Army Reserve Force and monitor the remote, isolated and coastal regions of Northern Quebec and the North Shore for the Canadian Armed Forces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n- 2 CRPG is responsible for over 75% of the land area of Quebec, has over 700 Canadian citizens who serve as Canadian Rangers in the CAF and over 700 youths aged 12 to 18 who participate in the JCR Program in the remote and isolated regions of Quebec.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
\n- 2 CRPG represents a unique indigenous and allochthonous cultural diversity, bringing together Inuit, Cree, Innu, Naskapi, M\u00e9tis, Francophone, Anglophone and military cultures, which encourages dialogue, respect and the sharing of knowledge.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
