Michel Filion_optPeople, the environment, and ideas are the most important things in my life, and as director of recruitment for the McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA program, I must admit that I have been incredibly pampered over the last 7 years.

Indeed, my work positions me at the crossroads of exciting encounters. Almost every day, women and men talk to me enthusiastically about their careers, their dreams and their ideas. They come from all over Quebec and Canada, but also from France, Switzerland, Germany, and even, from Asia or Africa. Some are entrepreneurs with a great appetite for risk, others are lawyers, doctors or engineers, but thrive while juggling with management responsibilities and other job requirements.

In short, there are 256 people who, despite their previous success and impressive track record have had the humility to return to school in a collaborative spirit to become even better managers. These are, you guessed it, our dear students and alumni! They are between 30 and 65 years old, and they are so good that The Economist ranked them 4th in the world!

Yes, I know I’m lucky!
