Recently, A. Finkl & Sons, Composite Forgings and Sorel Forge (Chicago, Detroit and Sorel) announced that they were uniting to form Finkl Steel, a subsidiary of the Schmolz + Bickenbach Group. While external sales were all centralized at the head office in Chicago, Guillaume Viel, a 2015 EMBA McGill-HEC Montreal alumnus, obtained the position of Manager Sales Operations.
In this new role, he will manage internal sales (general administration) in addition to being responsible for costing, estimating, pricing, markup reviewing and planing new orders versus promised delivery dates, which implies a knowledge of the processes and logistics. Guillaume’s role will also involve being the link between the factory, centralized sales, and Schmolz + Bickenbach’s warehouse group.
