Jean-Claude Tshipama (EMBA 2016) has recently been named CEO Broadband within Eutelsat SA in charge of Africa.

Eutelsat S.A. provides satellite-based video, business, broadband networks, and mobile services to telecommunication operators and broadcasters, corporate network integrators, and companies primarily in Europe, the Americas, Africa, and Asia. The company owns and operates satellites that provide capacity to international telecommunications operators and broadcasting companies.

Jean-Claude Tshipama is a McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA alumnus. He started his career in Democratic Republic of Congo in the telecommunications, computer and Pay TV industries’.He successively worked as Commercial Manager at Celtel in Africa, Head of Sales and Distribution for nineteen countries in Africa at Microsoft Corporation and Head of Sales and Distribution at Digicel in the Caribbean and Pacifica regions, before taking the general direction of Canal + RDC.

More recently, he had embarked on an entrepreneurial project in Quebec, with his wife: Zympala, a high-end, African-inspired clothing line for which he held the position of President and CEO. He had developed the plan for this company during the EMBA.

Today, with Zympala in the capable hands of his wife, Jean-Claude returns to work in an environment he knows well. The learning and tools developed at the EMBA and his entrepreneurial experience will certainly give him a different perspective on the industry and its challenges.
