Isabelle Brissette, a graduate from the first McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA cohort in 2010, has recently been appointed Chief Advisor, Security and Business Resilience at Rio Tinto, a first for a woman in this role, for a mining or oil & gas multinational.

For this new position, Isabelle will actively mentor, coach and supervise a global team of security professionals, advise senior management and the Board of Security on issues pertaining to resilience strategy, security incidents, trends, and priorities, amongst other tasks.

‘The key learnings I need to use in my new role, which I learnt during my time at the EMBA, are certainly the importance of a collaborative approach and how to identify new internal stakeholders. In a large organization like Rio Tinto, it is essential that you know whom to engage with in order to build efficient relationships’ says Isabelle.
