Sarah Gheriani (EMBA 2020) advancing to the 3MT/MT180 McGill Competition Finals

The McGill Three Minute Thesis challenge (Ma thèse en 180 secondes ) or 3MT/MT180 Competition, is a University-wide McGill competition in which graduate students have the chance to showcase their leading-edge research before a live audience in only three minutes. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is a global competition with challenges now held in over 350 universities in 59 countries around the world.

This year, 15 McGill graduate students have been selected from a group of over 130 who accepted the Three Minute Thesis challenge. Among them is Sarah Gheriani, a 2020McGill-HEC Montreal Executive MBA program alumna. She entered the competition and finished in the top 3 of her heat. With only three minutes and a single slide, she was able to engage her audience and convey the complexities of her final paper entitled “How to improve Patient-Centric Care in Canada” to a diverse, non-expert audience. The panel of multidisciplinary judges based their decisions on the engagement/impact, comprehensibility, and communication style of the participants.

Sarah will now be advancing to the Finals held on March 10, 2020 at the McGill Faculty Club.

One winner of the Finals will move on to represent McGill at the Provincial and National competitions, respectively.
