The diversity of candidates within each cohort is essential to the learning approach of the program, and the awarding of these scholarships contributes to that diversity.

The EMBA McGill – HEC Montreal offers two types of scholarships:

1. Scholarships for managers working in the non-profit sector

This $50,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a candidate working in a nonprofit organization that is officially recognized as a registered charity (with charitable status and the ability to issue donation receipts). It is granted based on financial need and merit.

2. Scholarships for indigenous managers

The McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA is awarding up to two CAD $ 50,000 scholarships to indigenous managers to cover part of the program’s tuition fees. The objective is to support First Nations leaders as they pursue their academic and professional journey, but also, to bring different perspectives and experiences to the class.

How to apply for the scholarship

We encourage executives, mid- to senior-level managers, professionals, entrepreneurs, as well as leaders working in non-profit organizations to submit a pre-admission application to the EMBA McGill-HEC Montréal program (short online form).

Each application is reviewed by the Selection Committee based on several criteria, including:

  • Leadership potential;

  • Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills;

  • Completion of an undergraduate degree;

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial role;

  • Proficiency in either French or English (spoken and written), with the ability to understand and read the other language.

For applicants who identify as Indigenous and wish to be considered for dedicated scholarships:
Proof of Indigenous identity is required (e.g., status card, letter of support from a Band Council, or other relevant documentation).

For applicants wishing to be considered for a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) scholarship:
Proof of employment within a non-profit organization is required, along with documentation confirming the organization’s charitable status or recognized charitable donations.

Applicants interested in either of these scholarships must indicate their interest by selecting the appropriate option on the program application form. Selected candidates will then be contacted and may be required to provide additional documentation upon request, such as the organization’s annual report, mission statement, and/or a letter of support from the organization’s Board of Directors.
