That\u2019s a winning combination for Matane. As a way of giving back to the region that\u2019s given him his livelihood, Fran\u00e7ois set himself a goal of working with local entrepreneurs to raise $250,000 to establish a fund dedicated to the creation of new businesses and new jobs in the Matane region.<\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavantage.qc.ca\/Actualites\/Economie\/2015-12-01\/article-4361909\/Cinquante-entrepreneurs-se-mobilisent-pour-dynamiser-leconomie-locale\/1\">Journal L&#8217;Avantage Rimouski<\/a><\/span>, a weekly newspaper that serves the Bas-St-Laurent and Gasp\u00e9sie regions announced recently that Fran\u00e7ois Rioux had succeeded, as the fund was now at $ 270,000. The article quoted Fran\u00e7ois on this success: &#8220;It shows that entrepreneurs from Matane want to play a strategic role in the development of our economy and thereby the sustainability of our businesses. Matane has an economic, social and cultural heritage as well as a great natural richness and all it takes to create a successful economy.&#8221; <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lavantage.qc.ca\/Actualites\/Economie\/2015-12-01\/article-4361909\/Cinquante-entrepreneurs-se-mobilisent-pour-dynamiser-leconomie-locale\/1\">This article also explains the next steps of the project (read here \u2013 in French only).<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linformation.ca\/actualites\/2015\/12\/3\/remi-masse-se-rejouit-de-l-initiative-du-groupe-bertrand-rioux.html\">newspaper Information Mont-Joli<\/a><\/span>, confirmed R\u00e9mi Mass\u00e9\u2019s support for Fran\u00e7ois\u2019 initiative. &#8220;It is time to have a positive and unifying leadership, like that of Mr. Rioux, from the business community.
