Interview with Nathalie Ngongo, current participant of the McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA program.

I lead and support my team with passion, empowerment and continuous improvement mindset.

What is your personal mission?

To show compassion towards those in need and leave a legacy for the next generation.

What does Black History Month mean to you?

An opportunity to focus on the successes and positive impacts of the Black community and also to collectively reflect on the ongoing challenges due to biases or history.

How can one contribute to addressing the challenges faced by the Black community?

By educating oneself, acknowledging that there are still subtle discriminations, and being open to discovering differences.

Once we’ve learned, it’s important to change one thing at a time; teach it to our children and positively influence those around us to recognize their own unconscious biases and the harmful behaviors that result from them.

As Maya Angelou said: “Do the best you can until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.”
