Courte biographie

I have held management and leadership roles in my career. I was the Chief of my community of Mistissini for 10 years. I have been in senior management and director roles of non-profit Cree Organizations for most of my career. I have served as a Board member of various Cree profit-oriented businesses.

I enjoy reading and keeping active. I speak my Cree language, practice, and hold on to the Cree oral traditions.

De quelle réalisation êtes-vous le plus fier(ère) dans votre carrière professionnelle ?

Serving as Chief of my community. The highest honor bestowed on an individual by the people.

Pourquoi avez-vous choisi d’entreprendre le programme EMBA de McGill-HEC Montréal?

Despite my experience, I felt that I still lacked confidence, especially in the Academic field. The EMBA would help my confidence and at the same time provided me with new learnings and practices that I can apply in my work. It was also a lifelong dream of mine to attain EMBA credentials. I have always valued education as a necessity for success that leads to a better life and to more opportunities.

Quel a été l’impact du programme EMBA sur vous et votre carrière?

I learned very valuable tools to manage my department better. And, I have grown as a manager and discovered my shortcomings which led to undue stress. I learned to place more trust in my staff ad allow them to grow in their positions. My mentality is more of a coach rather than a boss as I always have been.

Qu’avez-vous le plus apprécié de votre expérience EMBA en général?

I liked the learning, networking, CEO Speaker Series who gave very practical advice, and lectures by some Iconic Quebec enterprises such as Lise Watier, Cirque de Soleil, and Molson. And I met some very bright and talented people and made everlasting friendships.

Quels conseils donneriez-vous à quelqu’un qui considère se lancer dans l’aventure EMBA?

Take the leap of faith and embark on a remarkable journey. Do not doubt but believe that you will succeed.
