«As we celebrate Latino Heritage Month, I find myself reflecting on a unique cultural trait from my Brazilian heritage :  « o jeitinho brasileiro« .

As a Brazilian who moved to Canada nearly 30 years ago, I built my life here based on the values my family instilled in me: the importance of family, humility, a love of learning, and hard work.

Brazilians value genuine connections and community. We are known for being warm, joyful and creative. Creativity and resourcefulness are the true essence of « o jeitinho brasileiro« , the art of finding solutions through creativity, flexibility and optimism.

This expression is often misunderstood, but its true meaning is a powerful leadership skill. Beyond the stereotypes, « jeitinho » is the ability to adapt, to look at challenges from new angles, to stay optimistic and to find a way forward when the path isn’t clear.

In today’s context of deep technological transformation and global challenges, this very human ability to be flexible, creative and hopeful is essential. I’m grateful my Brazilian roots taught me to see uncertainty not as a barrier, but as an opportunity to innovate by being creative, resourceful and optimistic.»
