annie-fredetteAnnie Fredette received her McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA diploma in 2015 just weeks before the birth of her first child. At the time, Annie was Director of Operations at D + H, a financial technology provider for financial institutions worldwide, having steadily risen through the company since joining it in 2010.

When she returned to work after her maternity leave, her employer worked with her to define a new role in the Montreal office: Director of Operations, Montreal and Strategic Initiatives. This role gave her the responsibility for developing an operations centre in Montreal.

Shortly after this first promotion, Annie was promoted again, this time to Group Leader, Corporate Transaction Services, Global Shared Services, a significant advancement within D + H. Annie firmly believes that the EMBA helped her secure this important role: “I am sure the EMBA played a big part in this: getting me noticed more by the Executives and giving me the tools and confidence I needed to step up.” She is now in charge of managing operations for all corporate functions that fall into the Shared services group.

As such, she has the opportunity to explore the internal operations of D + H around the world (Canada, USA, India, , Philippines, etc.) and apply many of the concepts she learned during her Executive MBA. The Worldly Mindset, which focused on how to learn in and from different contexts, has been front and centre: “My role is keeping me busy, both on the tactical and strategic fronts. I am learning a lot about and from different cultures, and about the political components of the organization.”
