Launched in 2008 as one of the world’s first truly bilingual executive programs, the McGill-HEC Montreal EMBA is a partnership between McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management and HEC Montreal. The EMBA program continues to innovate and help managers from Montreal, but also from Quebec, Ontario and all over the world, grow as individuals and leaders.

Downtown Montreal

The McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA program is now offered entirely in downtown Montreal. Half of the courses take place at HEC Montréal’s brand new building downtown, the Hélène-Desmarais building, the other half of the courses take place at the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University, in the heart of the main McGill University campus.

Founded in 1906, the Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University is ranked among the best international business schools in the world. The faculty is located on the downtown campus of McGill University, in the heart of the dynamic metropolis of Montreal. EMBA courses always take place in the same classroom, specially designed for programs based on the Managerials Mindset of Henry Mintzberg, a renowned McGill professor, and which encourage exchanges around round tables.

Since the beginnings of the EMBA, renowned professors chosen among the best of both faculty teach in both schools. The duality of cultures specific to each university and the bilingualism inherent to this partnership reflect the business reality of Montreal, but also of several large multicultural cities around the world.

« I chose the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA because it is a combination of two highly regarded universities, one representing English Canada and the other French Canada. It’s a unique combination of languages and cultures. »
