Maryline Thomas, a 2021 graduate of the McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA, recently launched her event organization company called Queen & Queer.

Maryline and her partner, Sam, offer evenings aimed at women in the LGBTQ community, and they are currently developing a service offer for companies wishing to organize events with a Queer flavor for their employees.

In an interview in Fugues magazine, Maryline explains the origin of their business:

“We [Maryline and Sam] both have an entrepreneurial profile and we wanted to build something together. We had our own opinion on different parties for the LGBTQ community. I arrived in Montreal in 2007, I took part in several of them. I did not recognize myself in it, whether in terms of the offer or the undiversified clientele. We wanted to bring a different offer.”

In addition to her Executive MBA degree from McGill and HEC Montreal, Maryline holds a master’s degree from Polytechnique Montreal in Biomedical Engineering and a master’s degree from the University of Lille in Microelectronics, Microtechnics, Telecommunication and Nanotechnologies. This new project is in addition to her current job as Director of Manufacturing Engineering at Reveal Surgical.
