“I am proud and honored to be able to actively participate in the development and success of a Quebec organization, alongside a team motivated by our local impact.”

The Board of Directors of the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC) recently announced the appointment of Suzanne Bergeron, a 2023 McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA program alumna, as the SQDC’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Suzanne will be the first woman to head the SQDC and will take up her duties on November 27.

Suzanne began the Executive MBA program in September 2021. At the end of her program, she was selected as Valedictorian by her classmates (someone who exemplifies the spirit and philosophy of the program).

“You might not think it’s possible for one person to be a mentor to 44 classmates, but Suzanne would prove you wrong. Her classmates truly saw Suzanne as a sounding board, a home base in the storm, a source of new perspectives, and a generous and humble ally. It’s no surprise that she was selected as valedictorian.” – Marianne Vandenbosch, EMBA program director.

Suzanne was also selected among the “2023 EMBA Best & Brightest” by Poets&Quants. In an interview with the web magazine, she confided:

I chose the EMBA McGill-HEC because of the undeniable reputation of both business schools and their unique collaborative, bilingual curriculum. I wanted to get the best of both worlds. I also chose the program because of its focus, which is “leading with impact” and fostering tomorrow’s leaders who will have influence on the economic, social, and environmental challenges that we absolutely have the duty to act on as leaders.
