Embarking on a new role and numerous exciting projects

We are proud to announce the promotion of Annick Lafrenière, a 2022 McGill-HEC Montréal Executive MBA graduate, to the position of Vice-President, Innovation, Communication, and Cause Engagement at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital (HMR) Foundation. The HMR Foundation supports projects related to research, education, and patient care, from their treatment to their discharge from the hospital.

In her new role, Annick oversees the departments of communications, direct marketing, and events, while taking charge of the strategic positioning of the HMR Foundation. This includes not only building healthy communities in East Montreal but also transforming the future of healthcare for the entire province of Quebec.

Innovation plays a central role in Annick’s position. She develops and ensures the implementation of collaborative innovation projects involving the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital and requiring significant investments from the Foundation. These strategic projects enable the Foundation and HMR to remain at the forefront of innovation in the healthcare field.

An exciting aspect of her role is her involvement in the modernization and expansion project of the HMR, where she serves as a liaison between the HMR and donors for the realization of innovative and sustainable health projects.

In addition to these responsibilities, Annick is committed to developing and implementing a sustainable strategy for the entire organization, including crucial aspects such as equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Balancing her roles as mother and student

Annick began the McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA program in September 2020. She returned to school while already balancing a demanding managerial role in philanthropy and being a mother of two young children. She shared with us her experience and decision to pursue an Executive MBA program:

“When I enrolled in the EMBA, I had young children aged 5 and 6. Certainly, I could have waited until they were older and more independent, but I chose to choose MYSELF and seize the opportunity that came to join the 2022 McGill-HEC Montréal EMBA cohort. Developing skills and the opportunity to show my children the importance of continuously learning was crucial to me. In the end, my children will always be proud of their mom who earned an MBA at the same time as they were learning to read and write.”

We applaud Annick for her determination, exceptional leadership, and significant contribution to the HMR Foundation. Her success is a shining example of the value of continuous education and the positive impact that can be achieved by combining professional dedication and personal development.

Congratulations, Annick, on this well-deserved success!
